Trailer Repair Mesa AZ
Structural frame welding, hitch repair, and DOT-compliant repairs for all trailer types.
Shop and mobile service available.
Iron FX Welding repairs trailers at our Mesa shop and on-site at your yard, jobsite, or storage location throughout the East Valley.
A down trailer costs money every hour it sits.
We inspect the full frame, not just the visible damage, give you a written scope before work starts, and perform weld repairs built to hold under load rather than cosmetic patches that crack again in six months.
We work on utility trailers, flatbeds, enclosed cargo trailers, equipment haulers, gooseneck trailers, dump trailers, car haulers, and commercial semi trailers.
All structural repairs follow DOT requirements for load-bearing components. Iron FX has been handling trailer welding and fabrication in Mesa and the East Valley for over 10 years.
What We Fix and Fabricate
Frame and Tongue Repair
Cracks along main frame rails, tongue welds, and stress points are repaired with proper joint prep, full penetration welds, and fishplate reinforcement. We grind out cracks completely rather than welding over them.
Hitch and Coupler Repair
Cracked couplers, torn safety chain tabs, bent ball mounts, and pintle hitches are repaired or replaced and welded solid. Hitch alignment is checked after every repair. This is a high-liability component; we do not perform cosmetic welds on hitches.
Crossmember and Hanger Repair
Rotted or cracked floor crossmembers replaced on cargo and semi trailers. Spring hanger and equalizer brackets torn from frames rewelded and plated with reinforcement to prevent repeat failure.
Ramp, Dovetail, and Deck Repair
Cracked ramp hinges, twisted ramp frames, sheared latch tabs, and beavertail transition welds reinforced with channel and angle. Loading ramp repair on equipment haulers and car haulers is done at the shop or on-site.
DOT Bumper and Underride Guard Repair
Rear bumpers and underride guards bent or torn from backing impacts cut, straightened, or replaced with new welded assemblies built to DOT specifications. We document the repair for your records.
Landing Gear, Jack Mounts, and Specialty Repairs
Landing gear feet and mounting plates are repaired and reinforced on commercial trailers. Tongue jack brackets are rebuilt with gussets after an overload failure. Aluminum trailer structure repaired using proper aluminum MIG or TIG processes.
WHY IRON FX
What Separates a Structural Trailer Repair From a Patch Job
What Separates a Structural Trailer Repair From a Patch Job
We inspect beyond the visible damage.
Before quoting any trailer frame repair, Iron FX inspects the full frame and suspension for hidden cracks, rust-thinned metal, and fatigue patterns around the visible failure. A crack at one crossmember is sometimes a symptom of a broader problem. We tell you what we find before work starts.
We reinforce, not just reweld.
Critical areas, including tongues, hanger brackets, coupler zones, and beavertail transitions, are reinforced with fishplates, gussets, or sleeve sections rather than single-pass bead repairs. The repaired area is stronger than it was before the failure.
We document the work.
Every Iron FX trailer repair includes a written invoice describing the scope and materials used. We photograph damage before and after repair. If a DOT inspector, fleet manager, or insurance company asks for proof of repair, you have it.
We prep the metal properly.
Every structural weld at Iron FX starts with grinding out the crack completely, removing paint and rust from the weld zone, and fitting the joint correctly before striking an arc. Welding over a crack without grinding it out creates a cosmetic bead over a continuing failure point.
We use the right process for the material.
Carbon steel trailer frames are repaired with stick (SMAW) using low-hydrogen 7018 rod on thicker structural sections or MIG where appropriate. Aluminum trailer structure requires aluminum-capable MIG or TIG with proper filler selection and preheat. Using the wrong process on aluminum produces brittle welds that fail under load.
Licensed and Insured
Iron FX carries full general liability insurance and workers compensation. Certificates of insurance are available before any project begins.
HOW IT WORKS
Our Trailer Repair Process
Step 01: Call or Text With a Description and Photos
Reach Iron FX at 480.900.1540. Describe the damage and where your trailer is located. Send photos if you have them. We tell you whether mobile service is the right call or whether the trailer should come to our Mesa shop. For non-roadworthy trailers, we can help coordinate safe transport.
Step 02: Full Inspection and Written Scope
Before any work starts, we inspect the full frame and suspension, not just the reported damage point. We provide a written quote describing exactly what gets repaired, how it gets reinforced, what materials are used, and what the total cost is. No work starts without your approval of the scope and price.
Step 03: Proper Prep and Structural Welding
Cracks are ground out completely. Paint, rust, and contamination are removed from the weld zone. Components are fitted and aligned before welding. Reinforcement plates, gussets, or sleeves are added to critical areas. Welds are completed to the appropriate structural procedure for the material and application.
Step 04: Inspection, Documentation, and Return to Service
Finished repairs are visually inspected before we close out the job. You receive a written invoice with repair scope and photos of the completed work. For commercial trailers, we note DOT-relevant repairs for your records. The trailer goes back to work safe, solid, and documented.
SHOP OR MOBILE
Should Your Trailer Come to Our Shop or Do We Come to You?
This is one of the most common questions we get and the honest answer depends on the damage and what the repair requires.
Mobile trailer repair works well for:
Cracked tongues and frame rails that do not require straightening, broken hanger brackets, coupler and hitch repairs, ramp hinge and latch repairs, safety chain tab replacement, DOT bumper repairs, and any repair where the trailer is stuck at a yard, jobsite, or storage lot and cannot safely be towed. Iron FX dispatches a fully equipped mobile rig throughout the East Valley with its own generator. You do not need to arrange power.
Shop repair is the better choice for:
Major frame damage requiring straightening or jig setup, multi-point structural repairs that need the trailer lifted and supported safely, aluminum frame work requiring controlled conditions and proper fixturing, and complete rebuilds where multiple systems are being addressed at once. Our Mesa shop has the equipment and space to handle heavy trailers and complex structural work more efficiently than field conditions allow.
Iron FX offers both.
If you call and describe the damage, we will tell you honestly which option makes sense for your situation. If a mobile repair is safe and practical, we come to you. If the trailer needs the shop, we can help coordinate towing or transport for non-roadworthy equipment.
Call 480.900.1540 and describe the damage. We will tell you which option fits.

What Affects Trailer Repair Costs in Mesa?
Iron FX does not quote trailer repairs without seeing the damage.
Here is what drives cost on most jobs:
Damage Extent:
A single tongue crack takes less time than three cracked crossmembers plus a hanger bracket repair. We provide a scope-based written quote so you know the total before work starts.
Reinforcement Required:
A repair that requires fishplating, gussets, or sleeve reinforcement over a repair area costs more than a simple reweld. The reinforcement is what makes the repair last. We will not skip it to quote a lower number.
Material Type:
Aluminum trailer repair requires different consumables, process control, and more time than carbon steel work. Aluminum repairs are quoted higher than equivalent steel repairs for this reason.
Mobile vs Shop:
Mobile trailer repair includes a travel and service call fee based on distance from our Mesa shop. Shop repairs do not include travel but may involve towing costs if the trailer cannot be safely moved. We quote both options when applicable.
Hidden Damage:
If inspection reveals additional damage beyond the reported failure, we stop and call you before expanding scope. No additional work proceeds without your approval.
Rush Scheduling:
For down trailers that need to get back to work fast, call 480.900.1540 and we will tell you our earliest available time.
